SoScrates Socrates is the Owner and Director of Youth Soccer Alliance, and part owner of YSA Indoor @ The Coliseum. For the last five years Socrates and his YSA staff have been developing youth players who play the game with technical proficiency, tactical awareness and sportsmanship with the same passion they have witness from Soc and his trainers.
Socrates philosophies toward the game of skill development first, have created some of the most gifted players in the region. Socrates himself enjoyed a very successful youth & senior career playing for the South Melbourne FC. He represented both the Metropolitan Select Team and The Victorian State Team as a teenager in the age of U13-U18. As a sophomore in high school at the age of 15 years and 360 days he played his first official senior game in the National Soccer League of Australia with the men's team. Today, he is still the youngest player in the state of Victoria to play a professional match, he is also the second youngest player in the country of Australia to play in a professional match!! Socrates quickly established himself as a very intelligent and skilled two footed player with an outstanding work ethic both on and off the pitch.
Socrates has had the honor of being coached by some of the top professionals of the game such as Dave McLaren (former EPL club Aston Villa first team coach) & Tommy Docherty (former EPL club Manchester United Manager). At the young age of 24 Soc himself began coaching; his desire to affect every single player at every level in a positive, respectful way has helped develop many players that have gone on to represent their local, select, state, regional and national teams of their choice. Many of Soc's former players have come back to work with YSA and help 'pass on' the legacy.
Today, Socrates and his YSA staff are known for their unique and tailored training programs. Socrates, with the help of his senior staff, college coaches and colleagues from the United States and around the world have designed curriculums that are not only age and developmentally appropriate but highly effective.
Youth Soccer Alliance has and will continue to produce student athletes that have passion, commitment and a desire to become the best they can be both on and off the field.
