Soccer-Starz™ U5 thru U8 Boys and GirlsP
Program Goals; To provide a closely supervised, safe, fun and enriching soccer setting for boys and girls between the ages of U/5-U/8. Soccer will be the platform used to encourage positive social interactive skills, exercise, and skill development allowing each child to build an increased sense of self-confidence.
Program Description;
Youth Soccer Alliance will teach children the basic soccer skills through various activities that focus on balance, coordination and positive reinforcement at a developmentally appropriate pace. The activity level of the program is designed to match the energy and attention span of the children. The SOCCER-Starz™ program is the first phase of the developmental process. The program will focus on individual skill development recognizing the motor skill differences that typify kinder age children. During these ages the children are ego-centric and have little or no feeling for teamwork. Each lesson will takes into consideration these differences when implementing small sided activities and games.
Each class will be 50-60 minutes in duration and have on average a maximum 1:12 instructor to student ratio.

YSA Sample SOCCER-Starz™ Session
Get to know your ball - (ball mastery) students will advance ball using their feet and will stop the ball upon instructor’s directions with various parts of their body.
Follow the leader – (motor skills development) running forward and backwards, hopping on one leg, dribbling the ball around cones.
I can do this, how about you? - (coordination development) students will mirror the skills that the instructor demonstrates ex; toss ball in air, clap 2x’s then catch. Roll the ball in a figure eight through the legs. Pop ball up to hands using only their feet.
A drive in the city – (ball mastery) students will dribble ball around perimeter of a fixed course and will respond to various imagined scenarios such as; pump up the tires (toe taps on top of ball), fill up with gas (box ball with insides of feet), green cones meaning to speed dribble, yellow cones meaning to slow down and red cones meaning to change direction.
Get out of here! – (attacking and defending) students will form two lines on either side of instructor. When the instructor says the key phrase, “Get out of here!” two students will race to dribble a ball out either side of a fixed grid.
Micro soccer – (attacking, defending and sharing) students will compete in teams of 2 vs 2 or maximum 3 vs 3 in small sided soccer games attacking and defending a goal.
