With Futsal, the emphasis is clearly on control and technique. If you have ever watched Futsal players fight to keep the ball from crossing the touch line you will immediately begin to understand and see how Futsal develops close ball skills, control, and technique. Players must learn to settle the ball rapidly, shield effectively and pass quickly by using all surfaces of the foot.
Futsal places a greater premium on ball control and close ball skills. There is no reward for wayward passes, errant shots or 'kick and run' play because the field is too small and packed with players. Players with the ball must use proper technique to maintain control and must seek out other players in space.
